The
Forgotten Tower
The Tower Tome recounts a story of a Countess who was burned alive. Her
castle in which so many cruel deeds took place fell rapidly to ruin. Rising over
the buried dungeons, a solitary tower is all that remains. The Countess's
fortune was said to be divided among the clergy, although some say that more
remains unfound, still buried in the tower.
Tip: Search the Black Marsh and the Stony Field. Multiplayer Reward: Free-For-All. Location: Black Marsh Type: Kill Boss
Monster Reward: Assorted
treasure The
Forgotten Tower quest is delivered to you by finding and reading a book on an
altar, much like the Book of the Blind or the Steel Tome quests in Diablo. Far
out in the wilderness just as you enter the Black Marsh, you will see the book
on a sort of pedestal. Reading it tells the history of an ancient tower of
evil, that has now crumbled into ruin, so only the sub levels remain. It's more
like the "Forgotten Basement" quest, but no matter.
Somewhere
in the Black March, you will find a small, crumbling stone building, with a trap
door in the floor. Hovering on it will reveal that it is the entrance to the
Forgotten Tower. This is one of the more difficult quests in Act One, with
five large subterranean levels, all teeming with monsters much more difficult
than those you find on the surface. At the very end of the fifth level down, you
will find the Countess, a quest monster that is the source of the continuing
evil. To tell more about her would be a spoiler, so you'll have to see her for
yourself to learn more, but upon killing her you get a fantastic graphics
display.
Given by finding the Tower Tome in the wilderness or the Tower,
