The skill tree is broken down by the level your character must be at before you can attain the skill(Clvl). The Clvl that you must attain increases by one level with each point that you put into the skill. For example: If you save up two skill points to put into a Clvl 6 skill; as soon as you put the first point in you must be at Clvl 7 to put the second skill point into the skill. Also, at least one point must be invested in each prerequisite skill(This is denoted by the arrow system in the skill trees. In order to get a higher Clvl skill you must have at least one point in each of the skills along its branch of the skill tree).

The defensive auras will really help you throughout your game as a Paladin. The left branch in this series will help you to regain your life and mana quicker. Look forward to the more advanced skills in this branch, they will help to keep you in check. Defiance in the middle branch could prove ot be very useful, as it strengthens your AC. Do not overlook the last branch, it could be vital to your life. These are broken down into the 3 major resistances, and a final one that allows for a resist all effect(fire, cold, lightning, and posion) called Salvation. Note a possible strategy here: If you can tough it out, you may want to save or use points elsewhere until level 30 and just add pints to Salvation(Also see how there is only a Clvl requirement, so you do not have to worry about adding points to previous resistances.
